The new series of Top Gear hasn’t exactly gone to plan for the BBC with just 2.3 million people tuning into last night’s episode – that’s 700,000 less than the previous week.

However, Matt LeBlanc – who seems to be the show’s only saving grace this season, came up with a cracking ‘Brexit’ joke on Sunday night’s show.

Whether LeBlanc’s hilarity will be enough to save the show remains to be seen, but the former Friends actor remains popular with the British public. The same certainly can’t be said for Chris Evans, who is proving to be an unpopular choice as the programme’s lead host.
