It doesn’t seem two minutes since Big Brother was on our screens, when in fact, it was back in January when a cluster of celebrities entered the Big Brother house in search of an unforgettable experience. Jim Davidson emerged triumphant at the finale, closing the 13th season of the Celebrity version of the show, and now, it’s time for the Average Joe to enter the house once again. Only this time, there have been some more changes, in what promises to be enormous entertainment for fans of the reality series. return as the show’s sponsor, with Emma Willis returning as presenter. This year, the theme of the show is ‘Power Trip’, giving housemates more power than in previous series’. The question is, will they be able to handle it? Viewers will also be given the chance to manipulate the housemates from the outside too, so you can expect some fireworks!

Kicking off on the Thursday 5th June, the chosen housemates remain closely guarded secrets, but it won’t be long before all will be revealed on the opening night. If previous series’ are anything to go by, we can expect a mixture of interesting, weird and wonderful contestants who will clash as often as they get along. It’s what makes good viewing, after all! One person who won’t be entering the house is model, Josie Cunningham, who made the news recently in a very controversial fashion. Despite her best efforts, Big Brother bosses have confirmed that she won’t be one of the chosen few.


There’s a new-look Big Brother eye, a teaser of which has already been released along with a 10-second trailer that is being broadcast on Channel 5 in the run up to the launch. Maybe you’ll catch it while tuning in for SuperCasino’s Channel 5 Live Roulette show. The house has had a makeover too, taking on a new, futuristic and modern look – the lavish furnishings that were seen in the most recent CBB house are well and truly gone!

The launch is said to be spread over two nights, with Willis at the helm. Like last year, the fourteen chosen contestants will enter the house over the course of the two nights, and as an added bonus, Willis will announce a shocking twist during the first night too.

Coinciding with the regular show is the Big Brother’s Bit on the Side, which Willis will present alongside Rylan Clark and Iain Lee. This year, there’ll be a new panellist, in the form of Apprentice runner-up, Luisa Zissman, whose naughty antics made the headlines during the most recent Celebrity Big Brother series, finishing fourth overall.

If you’re not a fan of this triumphant reality show, don’t worry. While your other half may be glued to Channel 5 every evening to catch up on the housemates’ shenanigans, it doesn’t mean you have to. is on hand for you to while away an hour; plus, if you watch the show, you could always place a bet on who you think will walk away as the winner this year.
