If you thought you had bad luck when it comes to casino games, you haven’t met Katrina Brookman. The New Yorker left the Resort World Casino in Jamaica extremely disappointed when she thought she’d won $42.9m on a progressive slots game.

For 24 hours, the mother of four thought she was a millionaire and you would have to forgive her for planning out her spending.

“I can’t even describe the feeling. It’s like my whole body got numb,” she told ABC News.

However, the dream was shattered when a casino employee told her she had won nothing due to a fault in the machine.

According to the gambling commission in question, the casino could not legally award the max pay-out. In the end, Brookman was only legally entitled to her actual winnings of $2.25.

Naturally, the casino felt bad about the situation and offered Mrs Brookman a steak dinner on the house.

“I feel I should win the max and I will treat him to a steak dinner,” Bookman responded.
